About Me

Hey everyone, I’m Elizabeth! I’m 26 and I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I’m currently a YPL/Children’s Services Assistant for the Las-Vegas Clark County Library District. I absolutely love my job and am thankful I found this line of work. If you had asked me when I was younger if I would grow up to be a librarian, I don’t think I would have believed you. It wasn’t until I started shelving books in a youth services department that I pictured myself  with a career in libraries. Since then I couldn’t picture myself doing anything other than working in a children’s department of a public library.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree I obtained from UNLV, I majored in Journalism and Media studies and have a concentration in Integrated Marketing Communications. In every task I take on, I strive to push myself creatively. Hence the title of my site, Right Brain Liz. I also thought a lot of my blog posts would be about my interests which vary from picture book illustrations, storytime crafts, creative displays, and learning new tips/techniques. If you’d like to know more, here is a cool chart and a site about brain dominance.

Also a little fun one if you’d like to know your brain dominance you can take the quiz here: http://www.intelliscript.net/test_area/questionnaire/questionnaire.cgi

I’m currently taking my first six credits required for a Master’s in Library and Information Studies from UNT. I’m very excited to be starting this journey and know I’m going to do my best to apply all I learn in my program to public service. I hope this blog helps you and you find the content of use.

Thanks for getting to know a little more about me, hopefully we can nerd out over a few things! 🙂
